Reactions to the rise of the evidence-based practice (EBP) move-ment within social work run the gamut from the adulatory to the con-temptuous. In the United Kingdom (UK), a particularly vigorous, and occasionally acrimonious, debate is currently underway regarding the potential merits or malignancy of the EBP approach for social work education and practice.
