A study was conducted to examine the relationship between the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) scores of freshmen entering Brenau College in Georgia and the likelihood of graduation from the institution. The basic research question was: Do proportionately more students entering Brenau with combined SAT scores at or above 800 persist to graduation at Brenau as compared to students entering with combined SATs below 800? The subjects were entering freshmen during the fall quarter for each of the years 1980 through 1983. The findings of the study revealed a statistically significant difference in graduation rate with proportionately more students entering with SAT composite scores at or abcve 800 persisting to graduation.
