SUITABILITY MAPPING OF SESAME CULTIVATION IN NIGERIA

Decision making is a significant stage in all planning activities, as it determines the method of the project execution and success of the project based on the objectives. Agricultural production being a growth process is susceptible to specific sites and conditional suitability mapping. Therefore, to attain an optimal suitability mapping or growth; edaphic and climatic factors become major determinants in a geographical landscape. The edaphic factors are soil types, its pH and soil texture; while the climatic factors are rainfall, temperature, relative humidity and insolations. Nevertheless, the decision making in respect of the suitability mapping of sesame cultivation in Nigeria, is how to merge the edaphic and climatic factors in order to managing our land resources.
