Study on Complexity Metrics of Business Process

Abstract—The understandability of business process is closely related to its complexity, thus, calculating and controlling the complexity of the business process is becoming important. According to the idea of information flow method proposed by shepperd in the software engineering, we present a method named information flow complexity of business process(IF), and evaluate it using Weyuker framework. Finally, comparing IF metric with existing business process complexity measurement metrics and analyzing the difference between IF method and other metrics using two examples.
