An attempt was made to prepare fast dissolving tablets of anti-inflammatory drug Nimesulide preparing by direct compression method. The superdisintegrants Cross-carmellose and Sodium starch glycolate were used in different concentrations. Twelve formulations using those superdisintegrants at different concentration levels were prepared to access their efficiency and critical concentration level. Different evaluation parameters for tablet were studied. Tablets containing Cross-carmellose showed superior organoleptic properties and excellent in-vitro drug release as compared to other formulations.
