The discourse in the pluralism debate in heterodox economics concludes that contested inquiry does not exist in economics and that heterodox economics is not an alternative to mainstream economics. This article responds to this claim and concludes pluralism is about promoting the right to have distinctly different theories and contested inquiry in economics. JEL classification: B40, B5
