The purpose of this practicum was to improve the reading program at a San Antonio elementary school in grades one through three and to provide a model for expansion to grades four and five and to other elementary schools in the area. The Texas Right to Read format was used as a guide to implementing the program. This document introduces the program, discusses the background of the program, states the problem, and discusses the practicum design and execution.
