The mechaiiems of itbftory effects of dopne on the vagy stimilated gasthc d secretion and mucosal blood flow (MBF) were studied in anesthetized rats with a gastric fistula. lntrave-nous klfuion of doparrne snfficently reduced both gast#{241}cadd secretion end MBF. The libltory effect of dopanne on the vagally stimulated gastric acid secretion was not attenuated by sude, metododeordomperldone. Hdoperldol abolished the kihibitory effect of dopaTline on the acid secretion; it also abolished the Wihlbftory effect of norepinephrlne on the vagally stimuisted add secretion. The kh#{246}toryeffect of dopwine on the wAd secredon was abolished by phentolamine and yoImIne but not by proprenddl or prazosin. Dopwilne-induced reduction k the vagally stimuisted gasthc MBF was abolished by Moper-Idol and was partialy antagonized by suiplilde metoclopram
