The study sought to determine the relationships between work adjustment and selected personal, educational, vocational, and familial variables among 116 mentally retarded trainees from two vocational training programs in Taiwan. Findings included, among others: older trainees were more likely to accept rules/authority than younger workers; males were better than females in work tolerance; less supervision was required for trainees who had fewer handicapping conditions, were taller, were not overweight, and had more years of school experience; job training was more important to subjects who had fewer handicapping conditions than to those who had more; special class experiences in either elementary or junior high school were a positive factor...
