Ecological Interface Design (EID) has emerged as a viable framework of methodologies, tools, and techniques for generation of computer interfaces for the control of complex systems. It provides a method of using engineering design knowledge to directly inform the design and layout of interface graphical forms and has been experimentally shown to improve operator performance. 1
