“Science is the fuel of progress, in the clinical fields of dentistry, medicine, pharmacy and nursing!(1). ” As the industrialization and technological advancement has adversely affected our environment and lifestyles that has manifested in new types of diseases and ailments, which poses a challenge not only to medical but also to dental fraternity. Hence one needs to do specialization and also acquire certain skills in advanced technologies, necessary to operate and use sophisticated equipment’s, which not only help in exact diagnosis of an ailing patient but also provide options to use non-invasive methods of treatment and also decrease mortality rates dramatically. Maximum improvement of health and relief from suffering within available resources should be our goal. Oral health practice has now entered the era of "evidence-based " characterized by an increasing societal belief in many nations around the world that clinical practice should be based on scientific information rather than intuition or personal opinion.
