A total of 136 women students = math science majors, counselors in training, and teachers in training were subjects in this study concerned with the relationship between women's career choice and their perception of men's views of the feminine ideal. As predicted, women's perceptions of men's views of the feminine ideal were differentially related to the careers for which they were preparing. Women in career areas traditionally considered masculine (math science) were most concerned with men's approval. Teachers in training tended to be more home-centered than job- centered.
