Little research has been con-ducted involving the effects that knowledge of Alzheimer's disease has on caregivers as well as the pos-sible consequences of this knowl-edge. The majorpurpose ofthe cur-rent study was to determine the amount of knowledge caregivers possessed. The second purpose was to explore possible correlates of knowledge of Alzheimer's disease. One hundred and one caregivers participated in the study. Partici-pants were given a 30 item test which consisted of15 multiple choice items and 15 true/false items. The care-givers answered an average of 46 percent of the items correctly. Fe-male caregivers answered more questions correctly compared to male caregivers.
