Abstract. The present study was designed to investigate the life cycle of the tick Hyalomma anatolicum anatolicum on both rabbits and goats. Hyalomma anatolicum anatolicum showed a mixed two-host and three-host feeding pattern in both rabbits and goats. In rabbits the cycle was predominantly two-host with 98 % of ticks detaching after 14 days as engorged nymphs. The remaining 2 % of the ticks detached as engorged larvae. They detached after 6 days of feeding. In goats a similar pattern was observed with 70% of ticks detaching as engorged nymphs
