ABSTRACT: There is a proposed analytical method for calculation of normal stresses x and deformation of multilayer bars in this paper. Application possibilities of this method and the accuracy of the results was checked by FEM. It was ascertained that accuracy of the proposed method was sufficiently precise and it is very convenient for engineering calculations and scientific research. Using FEM it was established that when we have axial deformation of three-layer bars, stress state is spatial. Break-up of bars determines x stresses because the magnitude of stresses in other directions are very small compared to x stresses
