With the increased popularity and experiential under-standing of group dynamics, many theoreticians and prac-titioners have questioned the importance of group acceptance and rejection in the individual group member’s view of himself. Research has been conducted on the effects of manipulated self-esteem levels and various forms of indi-vidual success or failure. Studies have also been conducted on the effects of intensive encounter group, T-group, and group psychotherapy experiences on individual group members’ interpersonal interactions.
