Hematological Changes in Nile Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus), and Characteristic Growth Environment

Abstract. Paper includes results of investigations and hematological studies, conducted on brood stock and offspring of Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) grown at SCDP Nucet-DâmboviŃa. Research aimed hematological parameters and the performance of growing for parents and two generations of fry by natural reproduction rearing in different conditions: group I-fingerlings reared in natural environment (age about 80 days), and group II-fingerlings reared in aquariums at 20°C for 120 days. Growth of Nile tilapia in the natural environment was exclusively accomplished on natural feed and in the aquarium on the basis of the use of a particular feed (Aller Tilapia XS, 33 % PC). Blood investigations consisted in determining the level of the main parameters (Hb, RBCs) and index-derived erythrocytes (MCH), correlated with leukocytes. Results obtained will be use the achievement of a database, to detect possible changes in the physiological state determined by growing conditions, food, age and stress for intervention and timely removal of disturbances appear in their growth environment
