We review multifragmentation data obtained at the SIS/GSI accelerator using heavy ion beams with (0.1 – 1)A GeV together with the ALADIN and FOPI experimental setups. Multifragmentation, that is the emission of several intermediate mass fragments from a hot nucleus, is a phenomenon observed in nuclear reactions, using light and heavy projectiles over a wide incident energy range.
