Abstract: A survey of ticks infesting Delichon urbica colonies was performed in japan in 1967-1968. From 20 colonies distributed in J4. localities of Nagano Prefecture, 148 nests were collected and examined for ticks. Tick species Argas japonicus and Ixodes /ividus were taken from these nests. High incidence of A. japonicus was observed, although the popula-tion density and age composition of each tick population dif-fered. The incidence of I. lividus was very low with only 3 colonies infested. These represented a new host record of 1. lividus as well as the first record from Honshu, japan. In a previous paper the present authors (1967) reported on the bionomics of Argas sp. under la-boratory conditions. This argasid tick which in-fests Del...
