This paper explores the nature of relationship between economic growth and total energy consumption for Pakistan for the period 1980-2009 by using Co-integration and Error Correction Model. Granger causality indicates the direction of causality between the variables. The study will be helpful to determine the importance of energy sector for economic growth for Pakistan. Key word
