These include: (1) the binding of N-formyl-methionyl-tRNA (F-met-tRNA) to the ribosomes dependent on initiation factors (Allende and Weissbach, 1967; Anderson et al., 1967; Hille et al., 1967; Leder and Nau, 1967; Ohta et al., 1967); (2) the binding of aminoacyl-tRNA to ribosomes, which requires factors Ts and Tu.
