Purpose: This study investigates the differential aqueous concentrations of interleukin 6, 8, 1b (IL-6, IL-8, IL-1b, respectively), serum amyloid A (SAA), transforming growth factor (TGF)-b, basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF), and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in eyes with macular edema as a result of a branch retinal vein occlusion (BRVO) or central retinal vein occlusion (CRVO). Principal Findings: Significantly higher concentrations of IL-6, IL-8, IL-1b, TGF-b, bFGF, SAA, and VEGF were found in the aqueous humor of CRVO and BRVO patients than in the aqueous humor of control patients.
