This paper begins by deriving some properties of the least work needed to produce a given strain in a given time in a linear viscoelastic material using processes starting from the virgin state. The results derived are then employed in proving a unique-ness theorem for the mixed dynamic problem of inhomogeneous and anisotropic linear viscoelasticity. 1
