ABSTRACT:-Wastewater released from various industries is the major concern for the environmentalists now a day. The removal of nitrogen from wastewater has become an important part of the treatment process due to its significant impact on the environment, human health and the more stringent legislation on wastewater discharges. Because of the wide range of nitrogen constituents in industrial discharges, the approach to control these discharge utilizes a wide range of technologies. Among which biological treatment processes takes the advantage of the ability of microorganisms to use diverse wastewater constituents to provide the energy for microbial metabolism and the building blocks for cell synthesis. This review summarizes the recent stud...
