Abstract

A ciase of volar dislocation of the lunate, associated with multiple rupture of the flexor tendons of the fingers, is described in a 76-year-old man with calcium pyrophosphate arthropathy. Journal of Hand Surgery (British and European Volume, 1994) 19B: 195-196 Calcium pyrophosphate dihydrate (CPPD) crystal deposition disease (pseudogout) causes a symmetrical generalized arthropathy which mainly affects the knees, wrists, hands and shoulders. This disorder is known to be associated with the use of long-term steroid therapy (Dieppe and Calvert, 1983).
