*Self Concept 3 2 Purposes of this longitudinal study were: (1) todetermine any relationship between self concept, anxiety, family adjustment, parental aspirations, and the level of aspirations oflower class black and white boys; (2) to relate the IQ level to aspiration level; and (3) to determine over a span of three years what significant changes occur for each race in self concept, anxiety, and family development. Final data were analyzed for 762youths, evenly divided by race, with IQ's ranging from 70 to 142. Results showed that both races held high self concepts with blacksholding consistently higher self concepts than whites.
