This case report shows that a zinc deficiency may arise even if patients are receiving adequate enteral nutrition (EN). Zinc deficiency may lead to complications such as acrodermatitis enteropathica. Monitoring micronutrient levels in patients receiving long-term EN may aid in the identification of deficiencies early enough to avoid the consequences that can arise from them.
