Bulk organic single crystals of urea-(d)tartaric acid and urea(d1)tartaric acid as second harmonic generalion(SHG) materials have been prepared from aqueous solution. Their linear properties and nonlinear properties in terms of refractive indices were carried out. Tho relative effective nonlinear optical coefficients of the two crystals are presented in this paper
