Several advantages of infrared vibration spectroscopy made it a promising technique in both the study and diagnosis of cancer. These advantages include: infrared light has a low absorption and scattering coefficient, which might be able to allow deeper penetration of infrared radiation into the tissue sample as it is very crucial for in-vivo diagnosis. Also, vibration spectra provide fingerprints of chemical groups present in cells which can help us in getting the information on the molecular level.
