Amorphous alloys are non-crystalline solids which have no long range order but contain short range or-der of a few atomic distances. Due to the lack of grain boundaries, they have very interesting properties in-cluding very good resistance to corrosion. Amorphous alloys are produced by a number of tech-niques, such as rapid melt quenching, high energy—or neutron—bombardment and electrodeposition. In our labs we have investigated electrodeposition methods to produce a number of complex (such as Fe-Ni-Cr-P-C) alloys by relatively inexpensive and reliable methods [1, 2]. We have also shown along with other investi-gators using electrochemical methods that these amor-phous alloys have extraordinary corrosion resistance properties [3, 4]
