auThOr’s VIew Telomeres, the most distal structures of chromosomes, play an important role in genome stability and have recently emerged as integrators of various stress signals.1 Thus, structural changes in telomeres profoundly affect the abil-ity of cells to proliferate and to adapt to the changing microenvironment.
