Despite successful control of the pri-mary tumor, patients with uveal melanoma have a high risk of developing metastatic disease. In the Collaborative Ocular Melanoma Study (COMS), the cumulative five and 10-year rates were 25 % and 34 % respectively [1]. Moreover, late metastases are frequent, with approxi-mately 50 % of the patients ultimately developing metasta-ses [2]. The liver is the most common site for metastases and about 50 % of the patients with advanced disease will have isolated liver metastases.
