R factor = 0.033; wR factor = 0.098; data-to-parameter ratio = 18.7. In the title complex, [Zn(N3)2(C7H10N2)2], the Zn II atom is coordinated by two N atoms from two 4-(dimethylamino)-pyridine (DMAP) ligands and by two N atoms from two azide anions in a distorted tetrahedral coordination geometry. In the crystal, weak C—H N hydrogen bonds between the DMAP and azide ligands link these discrete complex molecules into a three-dimensional supramolecular network.
