Abstract: Traditionally, physics is taught in high schools according to domains: mechanics, electricity, magnetism, optics, etc. A survey of 30 textbooks from all over the world indicates that 20 of the textbooks present each domain as a completely isolated unit. As a result, students studying from such textbooks are exposed to domains in physics serially, i.e., one after the other
