A recent article by Aeberli et al. (1)concluded that moderate amountsof fructose and sucrose “clearly” and significantly alter hepatic insulin sen-sitivity and lipid metabolism compared with glucose. The authors ’ data do not support their conclusions, however, due to experimental design limitations, data variability, and undemonstrated clinical significance at moderate fructose doses.
