Implication for health policy/practice/research/medical education: Chronic hepatitis B infection depends on many host and viral factors. One of the most important factors that had been concluded in many chronic infections including TB and other diseases was polymorphism among INF-γ receptor. Our current study was fo-cused on studying the polymorphisms in the γ interferon receptor among chronic HBV infected patients. Our findings demon-strated that there is an acceptable correlation between polymorphism in two regions of the receptor and the outcome of HBV infection to chronicity.
