Abstract The goal of the research was to determine the concentration of Zn, Cu, Pb and Cd forms in the bottom sediments of Czerniakowskie Lake situated within the boundaries of Warsaw. Sediment cores collected for examination purposes were divided into sections, which were approximately 5 cm thick and were analysed to determine the content of metal forms. In the investigated sediments metals were characterized by different percent-age in the individual fractions.
