Abstract Background Endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) is a technique for en bloc resection of superficial tumors of the gastrointestinal tract. In contrast to Japan and other Asian countries, few data are available in Western countries. The objective of the current study was to evaluate the experience of ESD in a single Australian tertiary center. Methods The patient features, outcomes and complications of ESD of 20 lesions in 18 patients at a single center between 2008 and 2012, were evaluated retrospectively.
