Introduction. Sepsis and its consequences such as metabolic acidosis are resulting in increased mortality. Although correction of metabolic acidosis with sodiumbicarbonate seems a reasonable approach, there is ongoing debate regarding the role of bicarbonates as a therapeutic option.Methods.
