Oncology advanced prac-titioners (APs) are advo-cates for and witnesses to the increasing interest in self-regulation of health care by pa-tients. Data from the 2007 National Health Interview Survey (a cross-sec-tional household interview) suggest that one way in which patients with cancer attempt to manage their health is through the use of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM).
