UNDER THE SIXTY YEARS OF AGE

Th e objective of the study was to analyze the quality of life six months after the stroke in survivors under the sixty years of age, to determine which life activities was the most aff ected, as well as to correlate the neurological insuffi ciency and the quality of life. It was monitored stroke survivors under the sixty years of age treated at the De-partment of Neurology, University Clinical Centre Tuzla. Average age was , years (±,). Th e ischemic stroke was diagnosed in , stroke survivors, cerebral hemor-rhage in , and subarahnoid hemorrhage in ,. Five stroke survivors suff ered hemi-plegia (,), () experienced moderate consequences and (,) had mild consequences. No neurological defi cit had () stroke survivors. Six months after the onset of disease all stroke survivors have been at follow-up and evaluated about quality of life by fi lling in a modifi ed questionnaire: Questionnaire on Quality of Life after Stroke (). Th e questionnaire contained questions covering four fi elds of life: Working Ability, Home Activity, Family Relations and Leisure Activities. Six months after the onset of stroke a worse quality of life in comparison to the pe-riod before the disease was noted in () stroke survivors, the unchanged in (,) and better in (,). Th e most aff ected is the fi eld “Leisure Activities”, followed by “Family Relations”, “Home Activity”, and the least aff ected is “Work Ability”. Th e neu-rological defi cit signifi cantly correlates to the “Home Activities ” and “Leisure Activities”
