THEORATICAL ANALYSIS OF AOMDV, MPDSR AND MDART

A Mobile Ad Hoc Network is a collection of mobile wireless nodes connected together to form a dynamic network without the need for any fixed infrastructure. MANET nodes are typically distinguished by their limited power, processing, and memory resources as well as high degree of mobility. One of the main challenges of MANET is the design of robust routing algorithms that adapt to the frequent and randomly changing network topology. A variety of routing protocols have been proposed and several of them have been extensively simulated or implemented as well Multiple hops are usually needed for a node to exchange information with any other node in the network. Thus routing is a crucial issue to the design of MANET. Multipath routing allows building and use of multiple paths for routing between a source-destination pair. It exploits the resource redundancy and diversity in the underlying network to provide benefits such as fault tolerance, load balancing, bandwidth aggregation, and improvement in QoS metrics such as delay. There are three basic elements to a multipath routing, namely, path discovery, traffic distribution, and path maintenance. We present a selection of these protocols and give a discussion on how multipath techniques can be extended to wireless mesh networks
