ANALYSIS OF REGIONAL GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT DISPARITIES IN MAMUJU

West Sulawesi is one of the regions that are relatively underdeveloped in economy compared with the other regions in the Sulawesi Island since 2004. The regional HDI as well as GDP this region is the lowest compared to other regions in Sulawesi Island. This study explained leading sectors the context of Sulawesi Island and disparity degree in regional developmentin Mamuju regency.Analytical tool used in this research was to determine the basic sector (a comparative advantage) that used the analysis Location Quotient (LQ), the analysis of shift share was utilized to look at the sector competition. Analysis of Typology Klassen was used to determine the pattern and structure of economic growth. Analysis of Williamson index and Theil index were used to measure the disparity of development. The results of this study showed (1) the leading sectors in Mamuju regency the context of Sulawesi Island wasservice sectors due to their economic growth and quick progress. (2) Disparity degree in regional development that occurred was very real in every district which was caused by imbalance in the sub-district area itself
