Th e aim of this paper was to prove the relation between serum lipid values (cholesterol, trig-lyceride, low density cholesterol, high density cholesterol and primary open-angle glaucoma. Th e study includes two patient groups: patients with primary open-angle glaucoma and patients without this disease. However, all patients were tested for serum lipid values. Th e re-search covered a period of six months (from May to December .). Primary open-angle glau-coma was diagnosed with intraocular pressure values (between , and , mm Hg) measured with Schiotz tonometry. Th e visual fi eld changes were confi rmed with Goldmann perimetry. Th e gonioscopies were done for diagnosis confi rmation. Th e serum lipid values were confi rmed with enzymatic colorimetry in vitro method. U-test (Mann-Witney-Wilcox test) and t-test, as nonparametric tests, were used for statistical evaluations. Th e cholesterol mean value in the test group was , mol/dm (,-, mol/dm) whereas in the control group it was , mol/dm (,-, mol/dm). U-test was with negative ranks (z=-, AS=,). Th e triglyceride mean value in the test group was , mol/dm (,-, mol/m) and in the control group it was , mol/dm (,-, mol/dm). U-test was with positive ranks (z=, AS=,). High den
