The PSB reviews reactor auxiliary cooling water systems (CWS) that are required for safe shutdown during normal, operational transient, and accident conditions and for mitigating the consequences of an accident or preventing the occurrence of an accident. These include closed loop auxiliary cooling water systems for reactor system components, reactor shutdown equipment, ventilation equipment, and components of the emergency core cooling system (ECCS). The review of these systems includes components of the system, valves and piping, and points of connection or interfaces with other systems.
