ABSTRACT: A precise study for understanding hydrological behavior of a watershed is important for effective management. Among the most needed data while planning water control strategies / practices, such as, waterways, storage facilities or erosion control structures, runoff plays a key role. The present study area is Chand river basin, Upper Krishna basin, Western Maharashtra, India. The daily rainfall data of 1 rain gauge station (1998 – 2013) was collected and used to predict the runoff from river basin using Soil Conservation Service – Curve Number (SCS – CN) method and GIS.
