These are exciting times to be in the computing profession. Computer Science and Engineering continues to transform every aspect of our society. Progress in most dis-ciplines relies on the progress of computing. Our faculty, students, and alumni have been and continued to be on the vanguard of this transformation. We had a very successful year in 2012. Sofya Raskhodnikova was granted tenure and promoted to associate professor, while Yuan Xie was granted promotion to full profes-sor.
