Norovirus is a major cause of human gastroenteritis and has been identified as the predominant cause of food-borne outbreaks (1). Both food and water are important sources of norovirus trans-mission. Rapid and accurate detection is important for diagnosis of norovirus in patients and for tracing the source of the virus in food and environmental samples.
