(1 Political Geography Working Party The consensus in the Working Party is that, while considerable progress has been made, the transition to the status of a study group is a considerable one and should be delayed until more experience has been gained. At the Annual General Meeting on 3 January J. N. H. Douglas (Belfast) was elected Chairman and M. Wise (Plymouth Polytechnic) took on responsibility for organizing a session at the 1980 IBG Annual Conference on regional policy within the EEC and A. Burnett (Portsmouth Polytechnic) for organizing an Anglo-American seminar. A. J. Budd (Leicester) and R. Muir (CCAT Cambridge) would assist the organizers as requested. Considerable interest in, and support for, the suggested themes for the 1980 conference on European regionalism and policy and the ways in which institutions shape regional patterns was expressed and members of the Working Party are keen to discuss themes with interested study groups.
