The need for continuing education for librarians has never been greater. Professional growth is vital for librarians in order to provide accurate and timely services, keep abreast of new knowledge and devel-opments within their field, update their basic library-oriented educa-tion, enhance their job competence, or to assist in the crossover to a new area of librarianship.
